2011 Quinta do Vesuvio Capela

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Fruity on the nose and with a lovely herbaceous overtone. Sweet fruit on entry with wonderful aromatics and complexity. Great tannins, firm but wrapped in velvet fruit. Big and mouthfilling presence but a slightly watery texture. Tannins dominate the aftertaste, which leads to a long and fruit-driven finish. Very attractive port. 93-95. Tasted over 3-4 hours on 24 April 2013.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
