2011 Warre

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

More purple with a bigger transparent rim than either the D11 or the G11. Very subdued nose. Lovely balance and elegance on entry, with the fruit arriving gently and in harmony with the tannins. Both grow to big levels on the palate but keep their balance. Big aftertaste and a big chocolate finish. Really impressive and much better than at the BFT. 94-96. Snapshot tasting on 20 May 2013.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
