Amber in colour and perhaps 20% opaque, looking like a 20 year old tawny. Slightly spirity on the nose, but pleasantly perfumed. Gentle entry with lots of searing acidity that supports gentle brown sugar and apricot flavours. There is a lovely creaminess to the texture. There is a hot aftertaste, then a very long - very, very long - finish of grapefruit and brown sugar. Much better than the appearance would have suggested. Served blind I guessed this to be a Taylor 1960. 85/100. Drunk 10-Sep-13. Decanted 6½ hours.

Cr50. Cloudy golden ale colour, rather resembling some Bg63 tasted awhile ago (e.g.). Nose of heat and sugar. Taste rather good though: honey, sweetness, gentle heat. Mid-weight, with floral apricot notes. Quite yummy. Mis-guessed to be a junior ’55.
