1985 Warre

A very clean cork, black at the end and soaked about a third through, dry otherwise. Decanted, this was pink to a small clear rim and about 70%. Heat to the nose and a bit thin.

D+9: This is starting to come together. It began thin, very lightly fruity and inexpressive, but the familiar chocolate and mint notes in the finish are coming through by the end of the evening. Will see what the rest is like tomorrow (tonight).

The little bit saved for tonight is wonderful. Having it now with some very slender shavings of Manchego. Surprisingly, the mint Aero and eucalyptus tingle of the W85 goes perfectly with it.

I forgot to mention the heavy notes of preserved cherries. Very good stuff.
