Re: 1977 Warre
Deep red, 70% opaque. Subdued on the nose with lots of dusty redcurrants. Very dusty on the palate, medium in weight. Lots of delicate floral flavours develop late, with the delicacy perhaps indicating a lightweight palate rather than a medium weight Very powdery tannins, very dusty and consistent with the delicacy of the wine. Soft and very sweet finish, full of icing sugar and bubbe gum, A little shorter on the finish that most of the other ports shown alongside. 88/100. Drunk 25-Sep-13. Decanted 1 hour
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.
2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

W77. Big, with a hint of grit. Good weight, strawberry identifiable within the red fruit medley. Good port, but under-appreciated on the day.
