VC07. Young, still a hint of tank. Dense heavy fruit, but seemingly little structure. Is it hiding behind the fruit, or absent? Lovely, in a fruit young way. But I’m less than entirely convinced of value-for-money as an everyday drinker.

Year guessed by me: one of my three points.

Bottle marked "G50 VC07
Very dark. The bottle contained lots of dark sludge in the bottom. Extremely fresh raspberry smell on the nose. Very young and impenetrable on the palate but nothing harsh about it. I have no idea what this is.

Opaque, very young, almost chewy. Raspberry on the nose. Loads and loads of fruit. Little to no taste of alcohol. First time to try Capela, but if it is anything like Vesuvio, this will not mature in my drinking lifetime.

Deep red, opaque centre, very youthful red with a narrow rim. Lovely and fragrant on the nose, full of fruit and lavender. Soft texture; very fragrant palate which is full of ripe purple fruit - lots of blackberry. Very fine with considerable sweetness to it. Soft tannisn lurk in the background and balance which comes from the citrus flavoured acidity. Floral flavours on the aftertaste, a big finish with a massive wave of sweet fruit that lasts a avery long time - but could this be lacking the tannin and power needed to be a long-lived port? Served blind this was guessed to be a Sandeman Vau 2009. This was bottle number 2697. 91/100. Drunk 02-Oct-13. Decanted Pop 'n' Pour.
