2000 Sandeman Vau

Post by AW77 »

right after decanting strong smell of red currant, as I was busy at my parent's big 65th birthday party I didn't have time to take notes until the end, --> d+7h: the strong red currant smell has faded quite a lot, colour: dark as ink, now smells of red currant (but not very strong), a little bit of raspberry (?) and a little bit of pepper, smooth in the mouth (hardly any tannins), a little bit of pepper in the aftertaste, mid-length finish, very secuctive port for someone who likes young fruity wines (I do!), 88 p. , next time I will try the Vau 1h after decanting as I really like red currant notes
