With Andy Velebil visiting from California, it would have been rude not to. So we did, in The Bung Hole, on Tuesday 8th October 2013.

G70, decanted 12:45. Fantastic colour, dark red, 60% opaque. Taste starts with spice, no, white pepper, and is then very sweet. Big luscious fruit. Some claimed it was slightly corked, but too slightly for me. Excellent juice.

Is DRT bringing a G70 from a different shipper bottler1 to every tasting? Interesting.

Notes
1. Corrected by my personal port mentor. Thank you.

Deep red colour, some bricking in the centre; 80% opaque. Just a little gentle heat on the nose, with some soft applemint. Sweet and balanced entry bringing generous sweet fruit with a core of acidity and still some gentle tannin. Thick texture. Gentle white pepper and hawthorn on the aftertaste before a very long hawthorn finish. 90/100
