From a half bottle. Deep ruby colour, transparent centre and paling into the rim but colour holding firm. A nose of raspberries and white cherry juice, lots of levnder perfume. Dry entry, a touch of bitterness dominating over the fruit. The mid-palate brings more cherries and damsons over a creamy milk-chocolate core. Some tannins still around but most of the structure comes from the acidity. Some lovely sweet bubblegum tones on the aftertaste. Quite long, but takes a while to arrive and when it does start, it starts with a soft chocolatey surge. Upper mid-quartile today with some further potential for development over the next 10 years - but not necessarily with much improvement. Pleasant, enjoyable but not monumental. 7/7 or 90/100.
