Popped this for a friend born in the same year. Oporto bottled, good fill level, with a relatively short cork. Decanted just before noon, consumed around 9pm. About 40% opaque with a little bricking around the edges, and long legs.
A little VA on the nose, but mercifully not much. Very, very smooth entry, with flavours of cherries and spice (clove?) or just a tiny bit of pepper, very little heat, though. Great length.
Wonderful. Port as it should be, and I think I may have convinced my daughter that older ports really are better than the younger ones.
