T83. Red, 30% opaque. Nose had woody acidity. Palate started as acceptable, then became awful. After that initial sip, not drunk.

45% opaque, mid-red with brown. If the Fonseca smelled of twig, this smelled of twiglet. In the mouth it was like a basic tawny with insufficient age. Unimpressive, without majesty.

Mid-red, mature and about 55% opque. Gentle nutmeg on a stewed raisin fruit. Soft brown sugar, a touch of fruit on the palate but an unexpected harshness to the core. The harshness and woody element runs through to the aftertaste and still some tannins show up. Despite the tannins, this bottle is rather light-weight and thin. 83/100.
