2007 Cockburn

Tasted at Axel's Cockburn tasting in Leverkusen:

dark purple red, smells sligthly ethereous, only a little bit of the Cockburn "rhubarb" (at least that's what Cockburn ports always remind me of), smooth in the mouth with a little bit of acidity, longer finish that the 2007 Canais tasted alongside, somehow the 2007 Canais reminds me more of Cockburn than the actual 2007 VP, the 2007 VP is more elegant than the Canais and the 2011 Cockburn (in my opinion)

Tasted as VP of the day at Dow's Quinta do Bomfim in Pinhao. I was surprised at the youth of this port of the day, but it was still rather enjoyable. Not too much on the aroma, some subtle red fruits. Quite medicinal with red berries and eucalyptus on the palate, tannins in the back providing some good structure. Not convinced this should be opened quite yet, it feels like it's got some growing to do. Good.
