After the BBR Port Walk, some people still felt thirsty. We arrived at the Bung Hole in time to eat some steak burgers and open some bottles that were wrapped in tinfoil.

Deep red and mature appearance. Closed on the nose, showing only a little fruit. Smooth-textured entry; gentle fruit that is soft and ripe but still young and carries a nice perfume. Lively tannins still grip firmly. Strawberry jam on the aftertaste before the long tannic dryness grips and delivers on the finish. Served blind, this was guessed to be Dow 1983. 86/100.

G77 (“DJ+RAB”). Red, 50% opaque. Muted nose. My only taste note — it had been a long day — was “roughness, mid- to late-palate”.
