NV Cockburn Tawny 20YO (bottled 1997)

Post by djewesbury »

After the BBR Port Walk, some people still felt thirsty. We arrived at the Bung Hole in time to eat some steak burgers and open some bottles that were wrapped in tinfoil.

Bottled 1997. Brown core, cloudy and opaque. Full of bruised apples on the nose, or perhaps toffee apples. Sweet on the palate, showing gentle milky coffee. Lovely, lingering lemon acidity that balances the sweet honey and soft brown sugar. Good length. NR.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

Bottled 97; not 77.
