On Thursday 19th December 2013 a subset of the obvious suspects gathered at The Bell in Wendens Ambo to taste old, peculiar and unknown bottles.

Dark amber colour, light orange rim. Bottle stink dominates the nose. Gentle treacle and orange on the palate; coffee and Bourbon biscuits. Soft milk chocolate and caramel on the finish. Very evolved, but very enjoyable. From a bottle that was decanted in the 1960s, but was not consumed at the time and was rebottled. 86/100

My notes say "oxidised" and the nose was not particularly clean, but from memory this was not entirely without merit with nice tertiary characteristics. No rating given.

Brown, 30% opaque. Nose stinky. Palate “awful”.
