Youthful and unevolved in appearance; opaque. Fierce acidic fruit on the nose, very young. Youthful fruit also on the lovely textured palate with powerful tannins sitting behind the sweet fruit. There is a lovely floral fragrance mixed in with the fruit. Dry and hot aftertaste, then a dry and long finish dominated by fruit and tannin. Very impressive. Served blind this was guessed to be Taylor 2009. 93/100. 2 hour decant.

Tight nose, very floral with extremely dark fruit. Incredibly enjoyable to drink already: floral, black cherry and blackberry, espresso and red chilli on the spicy finish. Tannic? Yes of course, but they are so ripe and well-integrated that the port has a very elegant and well-balanced feel. Impressive young Fonseca.
