T85 (‘DRT 2’), decanted 10:30. Dark red, 70% opaque. Rich red fruit. Some pleasant bitterness in the palate, on which RAYC also remarked. RMW rightly qualified as ‟chocolate bitterness”. Lovely port, drinking excellently now, but with time ahead of it. One of my three equals WOTNs. And correctly guessed to be T85.

The red colour of a port in the early stages of maturity, 70% opaque. Somewhat closed on the nose, with some powerful sour raspberries coming out of the swirled glass. Silky entry, with black cherries on the palate that are still youthful, with lively tannins and powerful fruit. There is some heat on the aftertaste, then a long finish of black cherries and cedar wood. This is a lovely, deep and concentrated port. Served blind, this was guessed to be Gould Campbell 1985. 88/100. 8 hour decant.

Quite a youthful colour still, of medium intensity. Rather tight on the nose, revealing sweet dark cherries, dark chocolate and floral (violet) aromas. Very flavoursome: plum, fig, dark chocolate, some strawberries. Still youngish with noticeable tannins. Dry and spicy finish. Lovely drinking port that will still benefit from further ageing. My WOTN, and I was surprised to find out it was a Taylor '85. For me, the first time this port showed so well.
