Deep red. Just showing some bricking. Sweet strawberry syrup on the nose, spiced up with a bit of black pepper. Slightly hollow entry; lots of sweetness and the fruit only arrives with work. Great ripe tannins swim gently in the fruit. Fabulous range of fruit and charcoal flavours on the finish. Very sweet, great length. This is lovely, gentle and flavoursome port. 92/100. Drunk at the BBR Port Walk on 28 November 2013.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
