Suspects, mostly old but one new, gathered in the obvious place to do the obvious thing. We are creatures of habit.

T85, bought by new boy MPM, ♰ West Syriac cross: decanted 8am. Dark dark red. Taste of dark plum, and maybe prunes. Good size. It tasted very young, and the prunes pointed to Vesuvio: V91? No, T85, but very different from those at the T85 tasting on Monday 27th January 2014.

Deep red with a rose coloured rim looking to be in the early stages of maturity. Treacle on the nose, with lots of toffee and vanilla fudge. Soft and bland entry, with little on the palate at first but later some dry tannins and sweet fruit shows up. Dry, dusty tannins dominate the palate and create an initial cheek-dry impact on the aftertaste. The finish is hollow at first but fruit flavours do develop into an attractive and long finish. 86/100.
