Graham Crusted bottled 1998, £14 from Sainsbury’s. Opened late as a healthful supplement. No note taken, but more stewed than typical, but nonetheless drunk with pleasure.

Deep red, just softening on the rim; opaque. Odd nose with subdued fruit and possibly a faint edge of bottle stink - slightly harsh. The oddness resolves on the palate to show as stewed fruit, initially flabby and with a lack of focus although this does resolve itself with patience. Very subdied tannins which are slightly green but dominated by the stewed and slightly sour fruit. Dry fruit all over the finish with lots of cherry stones and nut-skins. Acceptable - but I am told that this is not typical. 80/100.
