1931 Calem Chieres (bottled 1937)

Tasted on 09th Feb together with some Port lovers in Leverkusen.

After opening the bottle this was an elegant, very light coloured Vintage Port (no doubt!) with lots of elegant aromas. After roughly 6+ hours decanting the Port showed its full potential. Very transparent orange-brown colour with a persistent rim. Extremely delicate bouquet with honey, toffee and some malty notes. Fully integrated on the palate, good supporting acidity, some burned sugar, caramel, toffee. Long, persistent and balanced aftertaste. 19
