People gathered in the Bung Hole to do the obvious. There was a chance of being joined by a newbie, to sample his TV64, but he was a no-show.

Not many notes for this. Pale, tawny in colour. Tangy on the tongue like an orange with slight hints of caramel and spice. Not much sediment. A nice wine. I guessed W66.

Mature colour, brick red; 50% opaque. Closed nose, just a hint of spirit and some plastic. Restrained and modest entry on the palate; sweet fruit but powerful dry tannins that give a great structure. Slightly hot on the palate. Punishingly acidic aftertaste, then a lovely long finish of dry tannins and sour fruit of tremendous length that runs through many different phases — quite remarkable. Served blind this was guessed to be Taylor 1966. 89/100. Decanted 1 hour.
