1910 Andresen Colheita (bottled 2013)

Post by AW77 »

Tasted on the 3rd of March 2014 at the Andresen lodge from a cask sample bottled in July 2013, the wine is still in the barrel and is bottled on demand, quite dark for such an old wine (the wine-maker explained to me that very old Colheitas get darker again because they take on the colour from the cask), on the nose quite a lot of varnish, but also beeswax and old polished wood, a light body, in the mouth varnish and beeswax, not really sweet, more dry, in the aftertaste there is old dried apricot, a finish that lasts for several minutes. A truly great colheita. Tasting this has been a privilege. Thank you Alvaro van Zeller for your generosity.
