15% opacity, pale brown. Mint and vanilla. Wonderful sugary entry, great balance, lovely caramel and liquorice mid palate, warming at the finish and lingering long.

Df66. Red-orange, 40% opaque. Nose had marzipan and vanilla. Interesting Port, and good too. The hint of citrus, giving it a refreshing quality not standard in VP, was particularly unusual. Mid weight.

Pale in colour, brick red and only 10% opaque. Very little on the nose other than a bit of rosehip syrup. Very thick in texture with a nice spiciness on the tongue, followed by a concentrated and fierce orange. This fades quickly and leaves a dose of concentrated orange marmalade acidity. A very enjoyable mature port but one which is straightforward and not overly complex. 88/100. Decanted 6½ hours.

This had a pinker core to the mid-brown than some of the others tasted in this flight. The nose is unusual: I wrote 'menthol'. Very pleasant in the mouth with notes of orange and caramel.
