2012 Quinta do Vesuvio

750 cases produced, cask sample. Deep purple colour with a narrow transparent rim. Gentle nose bringing scents of sour fruit. Structured and acidic first impression with sot gentle fruit and a smooth texture gradually working through until the fruit dominates over the powerful acidity. The ripe fruit and searing acidity fight to dominate the finish and deliver a great length. 88-90. Tasted 24-Apr-14.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
