1994 Fonseca

Dark centre, some bricking on the rim. Very similar in colour to the Taylor but with an opaque centre. An attractive nose of red licorice and soaked prunes. A lovely satin texture on the palate, gentle but dense fruit all ove the palate but with ripe tannins sitting firmly under the fruit. The fruit persists and holds, ripe and mature and very fine. Fruit driven aftertaste and a long fruity finish that lasts well over 2 minutes! An absolute wonder of a port. 97/100. Drunk 14-May-14.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
