2000 Fonseca

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

More red in colour than the Taylor 2000 shown alongside, less bricking and with a wide transparetn rim. Closed on the nose, showing little - perhaps some fresh grass over blueberry fruit. Candied cherry and powerful tannin on the palate. Great presence and a good balance. A scrumptious aftertaste and a fabulous finish. A real gem of a port; very fine. 93/100. Drunk 14-May-14
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
