2007 Taylor

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Opaque red and youthful in appearance, with a hint of purple still showing. Some mint and fresh grass on the nose, but more subdued than the Fonseca. Soft velvet impact, then strong tannins spread under the dense ripe fruit. Nice balance and a promising palate with lovely aromatics. Gorgeous fruity aromatic aftertaste and finish with a great dark chocolate tone to the late finish. Very good port which is still (just) in its early drinking window. 93/100. Drunk 14-May-14
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
