1934 Feuerheerd Colheita (bottled 2013)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Bottled 2013. Deep brown, intense colour, 90% opaque. Powerful nose of ancient port, promising huge levels of acidity when sipped; really big and powerful. Surprisingly subdued entry, but with a rich and thick texture. Intense acidity zings through on the mid-palate, backed by a huge flavour profile of intense, concentrated citrus flavours. Big, big aftertaste and finish. Great concentration and complexity, a very impressive port. 95/100. Drunk 23-Apr-14. Pop 'n' pour.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
