1966 Sandeman

Rusty red in colour, 20% opaque. Lovely on the nose with perfumed clover honey and sour fruit. Soft entry, powerful acidity - searing in intensity! But there is always sweet fruit in with the acidity and the clover honey is always close by. This combines to give a really enjoyable palate. Lovely fruity afteratste with the acidity providing a fine balance. This is the oldest of the wines at this tasting which impressed. 90/100. Drunk 23-Apr-14.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
