2000 Niepoort

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Soft red on the rim showing some loss of youth. Lovely nose, very attractive with a huge dose of fruit. The sweet, concentrated fruit announces itself on the palate then gives way to a great wave of massive tannins that just doesn't stop flooding onto the senses! Long and lingering finish, dominated by the sweet ripeness. This is just so wonderful, power wrapped in velvet but will be even better in a decade. 94/100. Drunk 24-Apr-14 at BFT5.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
