Bottled 1988. Burnt orange centre and a pale rose rim; 60% opaque. Crushed nettles and grass on the nose, with lots of sour redcurrant. Sweet and thick entry, sweet syrupy fruit that develops wonderfully on the palate. There is a good concentration of flavours but the overall palate impression is slightly lighter than the 1981 LBV shown alongside. The aftertaste is sweet and lovely, full of bubblegum and leads to a gentle finish. This is slightly flabby, but does have an acidic structure. 85/100. Drunk 24-Apr-14 at BFT5.

This was brown-red, umber with pink. It was bitter, with rosemary, peppery sharpness, a great juiciness, a light rubberiness. I liked it.
