2011 Offley

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Deep red/purple, 95% opaque. Gentle nose full of soft, ripe fruit but not showing strongly. Delicious texture, lots of floral fruit before firm tannins show up and dominate the mid-palate. Powerful ripe acidity comes late in the flavour profile, and is always full of fruit. Sparkling peppery but fruity finish. Very fine port. 93+. 93-95/100. Drunk 24-Apr-14 at BFT5.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
