Mature red appearance with some brick hints; 60% opaque. Lovely mature fruit nose, very attractive. Lovely entry, focused with noticeable acidity and red jelly-bean fruit. The tannins are almost fully integrated and support a nice palate complexity. Lovely red licorice finish of great length. This is a really nice port with a good depth of flavour and delicious current drinking. 90/100. Drunk 24-Apr-14 at BFT5.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
