2003 Sandeman Vau

Ruby red endge, quite clear on the narrow rim. Closed on the nose. An attractive texture and powerful tannins that dominate the fruit. Fierce tannins and acidity dominate the finish. The finish is very long and very chewy. This is not in balance at the moment but has lots of promise for the future. 86/100. Drunk 24-Apr-14 at BFT5.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

2026: DR Very Old White, Graham Stone Terraces 2011, Quevedo Branco 1986 b.2026
