2012 Quinta do Vesuvio

750 cases produced, cask sample. Deep purple colour with a narrow transparent rim. Gentle nose bringing scents of sour fruit. Structured and acidic first impression with sot gentle fruit and a smooth texture gradually working through until the fruit dominates over the powerful acidity. The ripe fruit and searing acidity fight to dominate the finish and deliver a great length. 88-90/100. Drunk 24-Apr-14 at BFT5.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
