The 1996 Vesuvio shows a very nice deep red colour. The nose is flowery with a truffle-touch, alcohol present. In the mouth the wine appears smooth with very nice spices and a good supportive alcohol. The tannins are integrated completely. The alcoholic sharpness stays unexpectedly long in the aftertaste. Not bad, much better than the 95.
