2000 Fonseca

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Deep rose red with a brick red rim. Lovely fresh nose of sweet fruit syrup. A lovely shyness at first but with wonderful balance of fruit on the palate that is held in place by a delicate structure. This has a wonderful elegance and concentration. The elegance continues through to the aftertaste and finish. Elegant and delicious, like summer strawberries in the sun at Wimbledon. Drink now or in 20 years. 90/100. Drunk 03-Jun-14.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
