2006 Quinta do Vesuvio

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

By the glass from Vinum. Deep red colour, still opaque and looking young. Lovely fruity nose with lots of purple fruit. Smooth texture on the palate, rich and rounded fruit and dry but ripe tannins. Rich and flavoursome palate with good focus and ideal acidity. Lovely blackberry finish with great length. This is lovely, elegant port that has a lot of promise for the future. 90/100. Drunk 25-Jun-14. Pop 'n' pour.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
