Deep red-mahogany in colour, 50% opaque. Smells of toffee sauce poured over fresh raspberries - inviting enough to make the mouth water just from sniffing the port. Lovely texture on the palate, smooth and well knit. The flavours are sweet but there is plenty of acidity to balance the brown sugar and bitter core. Wonderful aftertaste and finish, full of flavour and giving multiple phases but always with a core of cinnamon and sweet apple. Very tasty port, much better than I had been expecting. 88/100. Drunk 09-Jul-14. Decanted 1 hour

This was one of the very first ports I remember buying and drinking. It was coming up to twenty then and I thought it was wonderful. Glad to hear it is still holding up.

Edit; actually I think it would have been about 12 years old when I first tried it.

Came across a bottle of this in my 'cellar' (read pantry) the other day. Alex's note has encouraged to perhaps pop it open on the weekend.
