Deep red colour, quite a youthful shade; opaque centre. Big powerful nose of young fruit, not early youth but not mature. A little fruit on the nose. Deep and rich on the palate, still with some soft tannins mixed in with the rich fruit that gives a big palate, sweet and sticky. This has a nice juniper finish but is a little youthful and unbalanced in the context of the other wines being drunk on this evening. Served blind this was guessed to be Martinez 1994. 86/100. Drunk 29-Jul-14. Decanted 21 hours.

Decanted 20 hours. 80% opacity, deep red. Not much on the nose, faint menthol. Soft entry, slightly thin, v little heat. Fruit and smoothness mid to end. Nice finish but not much bite.
Seems that GC80 is a bit odd. Gives the impression of youth, but the palate is not very together. Maybe this will come together a bit more in the future.
