Tom provided four excellent bottles, all from Hedges & Butler (which I guessed): Fd63, D55, D63, T60. And a half bottle of Mouton Rothschild 1955, alas not bottled by Hedges & Butler.

T60. Red, 35% opaque. Nose not noted. Lovely. Plum and red cherry. heat. Hint of grit.

That grit pointed me to Taylor, my one deserved point on the guessing. Wrong vintage though.

Hedges & Butler. Deep in colour, mature red and 50% opaque. Slightly harsh nose, but underneath this is attractive and fruity. Sweet, concentrated fruit on the palate with a wonderful second wave of peppery flavour. Very soft tannins but wonderful flavours. Slight - then big - heat on the aftertaste that lasts ages and gives an interesting twist. A touch of sweet red jelly on the finish. 93/100. Drunk 28-Aug-14. Decanted 4 hours.
