1977 Offley

1977 Offley Boa Vista
Bought from Davy's Exchange at Woolgate. Firm red colour, 30% opaque and with a pale rose rim. Pleasant sweet strawberries infused with vibrant mace on the delightful nose - this is wonderfully mature and attractive. Lovely poise on the palate; not sweet but wonderfully flavoursome with tobacco, mace and all spice infusing the delicious palate. Great presence, great complexity. A very slight burst of heat appears on the aftertaste before a big, dry fruit and spice finish of enormous length takes hold. Really fine port. 93/100. Drunk 11-Sep-14. Decanted 1 hour.
