At the request of Glenn E., passing through London on the way to Porto, an evening of port tasting with the theme "Variety is the Spice of Life". With TBH closed for refurbishment, this was held at Davy’s at Woolgate Bar and Brasserie where we were looked after very well.

Bottled 2008.
15% opacity, light caramel, golden brown. Rich nose but with a freshness, faint hints of orange peel. A sharp jolt on the tongue at first, wonderfully gloopy. Mid palate quite a citrus bite and a long finish with hints of liquorice. Very, very nice, and something I could sip over a period rather than "drink". I suspect this would also be very nice slightly chilled. Many thanks to Glenn for sharing this.

darkish brown colour, in the nose some varnish and orange zest, light body, not much sweetness, some orange zest and varnish in the mouth, quite a short finish
