At the request of Glenn E., passing through London on the way to Porto, an evening of port tasting with the theme "Variety is the Spice of Life". With TBH closed for refurbishment, this was held at Davy’s at Woolgate Bar and Brasserie where we were looked after very well.

Decanted 12 hours. 30% opacity, rich red brown, slight bricking. Nose not huge, faint menthol, caramel. Smooth entry and a little heat mid palate, caramel/chocolate and orange flavours. Nicely balanced and great structure still. Very good port, but somehow this example not wowing me as much as the previous bottle from this batch did.

garnet red, quite dark for a wine of this age, in the mouth pepper, eucalyptus and a little bit of varnish, quite a lot of acidity in the mouth, not really sweet, quite a lot of acidity in the aftertaste, not really a long finish
