Drunk with AW77, waiting for the team to arrive at Davy's Woolgate 23/9/14.

A dark red, but not purple, at the core, with a broad rim. About 70%.

Lovely nose. I would almost say an archetypal VP nose. Green, herby, eucalyptus and mint, spice also including cinnamon, and cedar wood. All the things I get most excited about when nosing a good VP.

Good condition. Light heat on entry which grows throughout. Light body, light syrup of black fruits.. Slight bitterness, mid to late; short fruity finish with very subtle dryness on the tongue.

This might fit the bill for Owen's lighter port. I enjoyed.

AHB enjoyed this at the same location a few weeks ago. Given the quality of this and the 1985 I think it is very sad that Churchill seem to have managed to fail in most other vintages. I seem to find lots of VA on almost everything else they have produced.

the colour is between a crimson red and a cherry red, in the nose there is pepper and eucalyptus, light body, not really sweet, more "half dry" in port terms (the Churchill house style is quite dry, so no surprise there), pepper in the mouth, pepper in the aftertaste, the finish is quite short, a nice port, but I think I like my port to be "fatter" and more full-bodied, so I will leave this to Daniel and Owen :)
