1994 Taylor LBV

Post by DaveRL »

Paling rich red. Browning towards edges with colourless meniscus. Clear. No sediment. Filtered LBV I guess. Nose of plum, spice and a little alcohol, but have to entice it out. Balanced in mouth. Joy. Dark fruit. Plum liquorice spice. Broad with good texture but light. Perhaps a little hollow mid palate. Taking a large swig helps! Mouth watering. Decent length but not massive. Liquorice spicy dark chocolate slightly bitter finish. A late summer or autumn rather than "winter by the log fire" drink. Mrs L enjoyed a swig and she was in the mood for Riesling. Lighter can be good. Ready and will hold for a good few years, I hope, as I have a couple. I enjoyed this.
