1964 Niepoort Garrafeira (bottled 2014)

Post by Sam VV »

Very clean. Lots of dried fruit on the nose (raisins, saltanas, dried cranberries, dried cherries). Warming baking spices (nutmeg, cinnamon) and coffee. Sappy, resinous. Slightly floral. Very long and complex. A very exciting wine indeed.

Bottled 24/06/2014.

A nice first post. Thanks for sharing with us your thoughts on this port.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

Thanks for the note. I just acquired one of these (I'm a 1964 baby) and plan to save it for a future momentous birthday or event. Perhaps my 60th... or perhaps my retirement party. At any rate, it's good to hear that it's showing so well. Your note sounds good to me.
