RP31, decanted 18:05. Red-red-orange. Nose had spirit, and oranges. Palate soft; heat early; pepper. Fresh and bright; silky texture; very long and sticky. The texture particularly lovely (see RP09).

Decanted 45 mins. 20% opacity, pale brown-orange, pale rim, greenish tinges. Lively, slightly sharp nose, a bit savoury. Smooth clean entry, builds to some mild heat. Nice smooth syrup feel to it. Very nice port.

Rose chestnut; 10%. Very soft nose, marzipan and faint fruit. A lovely mouthfeel, soft and elegant with some definite structure. Very good. And it got better throughout the night.

Reddish-gold in colour, 20% opaque. Savoury roasted meat on the nose, quite dense and slightly off-putting. Opened up with a little more time to become a little more candied. Medium bodied on the palate with a modest light fruit driven flavour full of bitter kumquat and honey sweetness and slightly oxidised. Gentle clover honey finish that has a delicious freshness to the long length. A lovely port. 89/100. Drunk 21-Oct-14. Decanted 2 hours.
