RP64 decanted at 16:25. Cork slipped in by 5mm, and then stopped. We were able to rescue it with only a break at the end.

Colour showing much brown, but nose good: sweetness, acid and tannin structure. So far a promising slightly over-mature VP.

RP64, decanted 16:25. Lovely red, 40% opaque. Red cherries, but quite light. Very delicate, long, some heat. Too light for me.

There was discussion about whether it was corked. Not being TCA sensitive, I can’t say, but others observed that the thing that might have been TCA didn’t worsen during the evening.

This was to me the strangest experience I had with a "corced" wine. Wolfgang noted a hint of corc which I could confirm in the beginning. Since the corc not does get stronger with more air, I was almost to finish my glass. The last sip 2h later did not show any corc-notes anymore. First time this happens to me.

Decanted 2½ hours. 25% opacity, warm orange-red, rim clear pale yellow. Not much on the nose for me. Maybe faint menthol. Smooth entry, elegant, nice balance, fruit a bit lacking, mild acidity on the finish with heat.

Deep rose chestnut, about 20-30% opaque. A delicate floral nose. Very nice fruit to begin with in the mouth, becoming sharp and bitter. A little cardboardy? Came round very nicely in the end.

Generous mature red appearance, 30% opaque. Confusing nose, flowery and perfumed but surprisingly dense, modestly attractive. An hour later in the glass this was clearly very slightly corked. Muted flavours on the palate, a little intense and dirty but with a very sweet orange core. A burst of fire on the aftertaste before a dry start to the finish then a charcoal and orange juice finish. Chewy and herbaceous. 85/100. Drunk 21-Oct-14. Decanted 4 hours.
